Client

Flora & Fauna is a cosmetics company specialising in botanical ingredients sourced from Greece.

They cater to mid-to-high-end consumers, with their products sold in high-street boutiques, spas, and hotels. Their focus product is a luxurious hand cream.

Challenge: Crafting a Botanical Brand

Flora & Fauna needed help crafting a botanical brand identity that reflected their Greek natural heritage.

They required a logo for their company and packaging design for their hand cream, which could also serve as a template for future product lines.

Solution

Competitor Research

We began by conducting in-depth competitor research, understanding the landscape of botanical and luxury cosmetics.

This research was crucial for developing mood boards that guided the design direction and secured initial sign-off from the client.

By analysing competitors, we identified gaps in the market that Flora & Fauna could uniquely fill, ensuring their brand would stand out.

Logo Design

The logo needed to convey the essence of nature and luxury.

We designed a custom logo that was clean and sophisticated, with a flowing ampersand symbolising the connection between flora and fauna. This element added a natural feel, tying the brand to its botanical roots while maintaining a high-end aesthetic.

Packaging Design

For the hand cream packaging, we drew inspiration from modernised versions of old botanical illustrations.

Each scent in the product line would feature its unique design, reflecting its ingredients.

We opted for a colour palette of dark hues, gold, and green, inspired by William Morris wallpaper, to embody the brand’s luxurious and nature-centric ethos.

The design is versatile, allowing easy adaptation for future products like body lotion, soap bars, and shower gels.

Packaging Rollout

Once the hand cream packaging was finalised, we extended the design across potential future products.

This ensured consistency and flexibility in the brand’s visual identity, making it easier for Flora & Fauna to expand their product range while maintaining a cohesive look.

Brand Identity Creation

To ensure long-term brand consistency, we developed a comprehensive brand identity toolkit. This toolkit included guidelines on logo usage, colour schemes, typography, and packaging design, providing Flora & Fauna's internal team and future designers with the tools needed to maintain the brand's integrity across all platforms and products.

Result

The client loved the design, which is flexible and can be used across any product range expansions they wish to do in the future while staying true to their botanical and luxurious brand identity.
